FAQ and About Me

Native New Yorker (with the requisite repertoire of colorful curse words) with a degree in Urban Planning working in real estate development at a firm on the Upper East Side. I've always been interested in three things: Italy (where my family is from), New York City (where I was born and raised) and sensuality (what completely makes me tick). I like to write scribbles and little anecdotes while on the train, muse about ways to feel as beautiful as I absolutely can inside and out, and take care of my body and mind. I like reading voraciously, eating decadent foods (I know, I know...), petting stray animals and breaking traditional gender roles.

Why did you start this blog?
Uhh, because I like to talk! No, seriously, because I feel there is a lack of information out there coming from a young woman's perspective on what it means to come of age in the 21st century and be bombarded with all sorts of cues out there regarding sensuality, sexuality and what it means to truly be a carrier of two X chromosomes. Plus, did I mention I like to talk?

Does being a feminist mean you hate men?
Absolutely not! Actually, a true feminist will tell you that we love men. That's why we recognize that there are way too many unfair societal pressures on men too. Feminism is not about being better than men. It's about finding as much equal footing as our biology will allow.

Why is this so important to you?
I think knowing your body is akin to knowing yourself. I believe we should be kind to ourselves both inside and out. Also, studies have shown that frequent sex makes people calmer and leaves them more content, not to mention burns calories and keeps your metabolism in tip top shape. What's not to love about it?

I want to learn more. What is a good place to start?
For a non-judgmental advice column, I'd suggest Savage Love by Dan Savage. If you're looking for a book, try to start with Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sex or any book on this list.

I am an LGBTQA teen and I am struggling with bullying/my identity/my family, etc. Where can I get help?
You're not alone. Know that there are people like you out there and there is nothing wrong with you in any way, shape or form. Start here.

How often do you write new posts?
As often as I can or whenever I get an idea or hear something I must write about.
